Presented through exhibitions, installations, site-specific interventions, performances, food, open studios, talks, workshops and participatory events, Manufactory invites audiences into the hidden spaces of production that shape the city. Unfolding across workshops, warehouses, studios and industrial sites, the festival opens up environments that are rarely accessible to the public, foregrounding Park Royal as a distinctive destination for contemporary interdisciplinary practice.

Created by Park Royal Design District, Manufactory builds on five years of participation in London Design Festival as its largest Design District, while expanding through new collaborations with ArtReview, Central Saint Martins and others. The inaugural edition is curated by newly appointed Programme Director Mazzy-Mae Green, whose programme encompasses interdisciplinary practices shaped by production, material experimentation and the social conditions of the industrial landscape.

Functioning as both platform and laboratory, the festival supports artists, performers, makers, designers and producers to test ideas, explore materials and technologies, and develop work in dialogue with the unique conditions of an industrial landscape. The programme brings together established and emerging practitioners working across disciplines, reflecting the dynamism and complexity of contemporary creative practice.

Early programme highlights include presentations, performances and new commissions by Jermaine Francis, Abbas Zahedi, Lucy Algar and Chihiro Kawasaki, Linn Phyllis Seeger, and Dan Mauz and Esther Kehinde Ajayi, alongside site-specific exhibitions curated by Mazzy-Mae Green and Harlesden High Street. The full programme will be announced towards the end of June.

At its core, Manufactory positions making as both a cultural and economic force — one embedded within the infrastructures of the city and essential to its future. By making visible the creative, scientific and productive ecosystems of Park Royal, the festival strengthens local connections, supports enterprise and expands access to new forms of cultural experience.

Located in north-west London, Park Royal is one of the largest industrial estates in the UK and home to more than 400 studios occupied by artists, makers, designers, photographers, filmmakers and musicians. Through Manufactory, audiences are invited to experience this unique landscape not only as a site of industry and production, but also as a thriving centre for interdisciplinary culture.
